About the UKAS Accreditation Mark
You may notice that our certification logo displays two marks side by side — the LRQA Certified ISO 9001 badge and the UKAS Management Systems mark (accreditation number 0001). These are related but serve different purposes. UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) is the national body appointed by the UK government to assess and accredit organisations that provide certification, testing, and inspection services. In simple terms, UKAS accredits LRQA — confirming that LRQA itself meets internationally recognised standards of competence and impartiality as a certification body. The UKAS mark on our certificate therefore adds a further layer of assurance: not only has Oceanus Marine been certified by LRQA, but LRQA is independently verified by a government-recognised authority as a trustworthy and competent certifier.
